Son was driving. Got cut off by a racing Porsche owner. I’ve owned this truck for 13 years. Best damn truck I’ve ever had. I will miss it. 207k miles it made in new England rust belt. No injuries at all. Both party’s ok. IMG_5861.jpegIMG_5860.jpegIMG_5862.jpeg

First off I hope everyone is O.k. after the accident. Some symptoms come after a day or two.

Second off: Looks like a win for the Expedition compared to the Porsche to me. It shows that you took care of your SUV the past 13 years! That damage would be fixed here.

Glad everyone is okay. Such a shame to see that.

The front end body work on these folds up like an empty soda can. I'm curious, do you know if the control arms bent/broke or the frame bent?

The Expy doesn't really look that bad, unless the frame's bent. Broken lower control arm and fender, bumper skin, grill insert, easy to replace. Didn't even break that stupid LED light bar. Hood's not even bent. Just a lot of labor involved, which will drive up the shop price. If you can do some work yourself it might be worth fixing.

My nearest Pick ‘n Pull allowed me to source a front end inner and outer and a front passenger door, after a deer incident, for around $400. The liquid loss may or may not be concerning, but I think it’s fixable. However, I wouldn’t want to have a go at fixing the Porsche. Boxter I think? Good job it wasn’t a real one lol.

If I were here, you would know it !
I don't know how the insurance companies work where the OP is located, but the REAL question is if they will be willing to pay for the multi-thousands of dollars for the repairs, which for a 12+ year old vehicle is unlikely...and will most likely total it out instead, especially if the frame is bent, since the vehicle will NEVER, EVER drive properly after that, regardless of what some shops will tell you...

And they would most likely would insist on the work being done by a qualified repair shop, with OEM or similar new replacement parts (not from a junk yard), so they can at least try to hold them accountable it if's not done correctly...

I know a few years ago, when 3 of my vehicles suffered just some hail damage, they were all totaled out because of it....One was a 2011 Acadia, one a 2012 Caddy CTS4, and the other was 2022 Grand Cherokee. Mind you there was ZERO mechanical or structural damage, only the exterior body panels, 1 windshield and 1 headlight assembly...

The one good thing about all of this: They paid me almost as much for the Caddy & Cherokee as I paid for them originally, and about 80% of what I paid for the Acadia, which really helped out when we went to get replacement vehicles, hahaha :D

And last year when I had a low speed bump & grind with a guard rail in my '11 and damaged the lower section of the front bumper (the part that wraps around under the headlights & grill), I filed a claim for it, & my insurance company had me take it to one of their "Authorized" body shops... For about 2 hrs of actual lablor + parts, the final repair bill was  $3800

The rear frame section is rusty in this truck or I would have thought about fixing it. No point now. On the hunt for another one. Also the tire got jammed up into the body buckling the floor. It’s f’ed. IMG_0565.jpegIMG_0564.jpeg
