Driving to work today I notice that there was a loud thud as i hit bumps on the highway. At first i thought maybe the third row seat wasn't properly seated in the locks, but it wasn't that.

Anyway, when i pulled off the highway, i was still hearing it. When i pulled over and climbed underneath, everything looked normal but then i saw a piece of shiny metal.

Apparently the rear shock tower on the drivers side rotted off and now it's just kind of floating around up there. Has anyone seen a repair kit for these? I'm not a welder (and given the space between the gas tank..... no thanks), and i can't imagine it's going to be worth it to have someone else fix if it needs to be welded.

Has anyone experience this? Thoughts as what i can do?

Maybe it's been too long since I changed mine out but I'm having the toughest time visualizing where that actually broke! Any better pics by chance?

I think there's some rust there. any welding shop could help with that . But if you're going to have to remove the gas tank .

My camera turned them 90 degrees but it's between the gas tank and frame. It was definately a welded piece. I'm guessing it won't be worth reading welding. Didn't know if the made a bolt on replacement or if this was even a common break.
