Hi Unfortunately I bought this truck without personally looking at it first (my father looked at it for me) and well the truck has a good deal of rust and problems. I so far have had to have repaired emergency brake cable, starter, passenger side exhaust manifold and pinion seal where driveshaft goes in to rear. Problems that still exist are one on takeoff other than going directly straight it feels like I am running over rocks and secondly I have a knock but you really can only hear it from passenger side and it seems to be low and at back of motor or maybe even by trans. I am not a mechanic and money is tight these days but I do have to make this truck safe and pray that it lasts a while. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
P.S I live down in south jeresy.

Our 99 has a issue with the transfer case causing the "running over rocks" sound. Got real noticable when I had to replace a rear tire. It was the same size but had taller tread than the others. I b elieve the computer was sending power to the front (engaging transfer case) causing the sound For now I removed Fuse 106 (I think) from under the hood. That disabled the 4wd until I get time to fix it.
