I'm stuck with my 1999 4.6 in Philippines. It cranks but not Start. Have fuel pressure, and runs if fuel is infused. Looks the ecu is dead. All other points like crank sensor etc has been checked or replaced. Now I intend to buy a reman ecu from flagship one. But have read lot of unpleasant experiences from them. Is there any other option. Also it is said that even the unit comes programmed still I need to do on car programming. This is a nightmare here in Philippines as Ford is same incompetent like all other here. That's why I have to do it my own.. Any ideas?

What is the fuel pressure while cranking?

Have you checked for spark?

Have you checked fuses and relay for the pcm?

Is the theft light flashing quickly?

How did you check the fuses.

Pull one of the connectors off of a fuel injector You will see two wires on that connector
One is red and the other will be a different color The RED wire is the hot wire and each injector will have a red wire at the connector Now Take a Volt meter and with the key in the run position read the voltage at the red wire One lead on a good ground ( battery NEG post ) and one lead on the red wire for the injector connector Let us know the voltage you get.

Being the expy will ran with fuel Infusion through intake. That would indicate you are getting spark

The wiring for the injectors go through some splice joints and a connector It is possible that you have a open circuit and checking for the voltage at the red wire will prove if the circuit is open

Theft light flashing rapidly? If so, you could have a bad PATS key. Anti Theft disables the fuel pump. Try spare key. Mine will do this(I discovered), if I lock doors with doors open, with power lock button, with key still in ignition. Always use fob to lock doors and do not leave keys in ignition.

You stated the motor ran with fuel in the intake. So how has the ecm been proven defective since it controls spark and fuel?
