1999 XLT odometer and fuel gauge problems

1999 XLT odometer flashes on and off intermittently and fuel gauge works intermittently...Are they both in the same wiring harness that connects to the cluster circuit board??? If you have to replace the cluster and have it flashed from ford will it store the correct mileage automatically as my odometer has almost doubled since the issue occurred???

First I would fix the odometer problem by fixing the cold solder joint There are some good videos on youtube on how to re-solder the bad connection

kindly provide more details about the fuel gauge problem

and yes they are in the same wiring harness that connects to the cluster

The fuel gauge works whenever it wants too doesn't matter if it's hot or cold full or half full...Sometimes it flickers just a bit at whatever position it's at also...

there is a connector under the air intake tube you may want to check it and clean the contacts

see attached you are looking for C148 16 pin connector for fuel gauge C149 12 pin connector fuel pump circuit look on right side of print for location
