last month my front right shock blew out in the garage, this month my left rear shock has blown out. I guess they are using the cheapest shocks ever as I only put 7400 message since Marxh 18 on the vehicle and it's never been off road or even on a dirt road. Anyone else losing shocks out there?

I told you to get them to replace all of them and you likely had a run of bad parts.

What ended up happening at the dealership last time?

I posted 10/13 that my right rear shock started leaking oil after 7k miles. Notified dealer and the shock was on back order from manufacturer. Just notified yesterday that the shock had arrived, 6 weeks later. Sounds like the shocks are from the "low bidder."

Oh! Your the one lol.

Ok. What's both of y'alls build dates?

Sounds like they had a major supplier issue.

I bought a new 2015 Expediton Limited 4x4. The RF shock began leaking at 6,*** miles. Vehicle is used only for passenger use.

The dealer ordered the shock (then in 2015) and it was on back-order then, for about 3-4 weeks. Eventually it arrived, and was installed.

The Ford shocks do seem to be very poor quality for an expensive vehicle.

I don’t believe any of the shock assemblies are original on my 07’. They have all been replaced at ford one time or another. The newer ones have been good so far.

Ford has historically had issues with strut assemblies on these vehicles.

I have 55k on my 16 and the rear passenger has been leaking for an unknown amount of time.

Hoping to use some Christmas money and get some Bilsteins.

Had Bilstein on my 2000, didn't like them, very choppy ride. Your newer SUV will be better, as mine is solid rear axle, and torsion bar front. Has anybody else had good ride on newer models with Bilstein? By the way, failing Oem struts are not a new thing. Back in 94, I worked for Volkswagen, and I personally saw 3 VW Jettas with leaky rear struts. And that was just my rack. Very possible their installing crappy seals on your year Expedition. Untill you pay on your own for a good aftermarket unit, this problem will most likely return.

The build date of mine is 1/10/18. Only other shocks replaced on my other four Expeditions was two front struts at 36000 miles on a 2011.

I'd suggest Monroes in the front and Koni's in the rear!!!! Yes, Koni's. Not Monroes. Otherwise you'll still be driving a parade float!!!

I have Bilstein 5100s on my F150. With 60,000 miles on them they still ride like new. Stiffer than stock but I added 35" tires at the same time. Had a 2001 7.3L Excursion that got 100,000 miles out of them. Quality product and usually a great price. I ordered mine online at AJUSA.com

I've got the FX4 package so I have the "Off-road-tuned shocks but not Ranchos" shocks. 12,000 miles now with no issues so I'll let yall know if they hold up any better. And not to threadjack, but if Bilstein makes a ride height adjustable 5100 for the 2018+ Expedition, I'd rather have those than the ReadyLift SST kit.
