2000 5.4 shuts down

I have a 2000 5.4L that will shut down while driving and not restart for about 20 -30 min. The first time it happened there was about 1/4 tank of fuel, waited on AAA to show up and put 3 gallons in and it started right up. I filled up tank with only 16 gallons, so I was not out of gas. Engine ran fine. I replaced fuel filter. Did not have any codes. Engine acted like I had shut the key off. It ran fine for almost 2 months and same problem, this time tank was almost full. Replaced fuel pump relay along side of the road(had one with me) and engine still did not start, checked shut off switch and even bypassed it with no start. Moved throttle linkage at engine a few times and it started right up and ran fine the rest of the trip. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
