OK gang,

I have probably been doing this wrong since 2013 (replacing front pads every 4 years or so), but this new set is labeled inner with the wear indicator, and outer without.

I have always had the wear indicator on the outside on the passenger side. This time I followed the labeling on the pads, but the issue is the upper caliper bolt will not go over the wear indicator so that it is properly positioned.

Has anyone else delt with this issue?

Let me know you resolved it. For now, I am just going to reverse the pads again. It's been working like this since I bought it in 2013.

Thanks in advance!!!

The proper way is to install the wear squealer on the inboard side of the rotor. That way should your caliper lockup, and put constant pressure on the pad, you will eventually be alerted by the squealer before damage occurs to the rotor.

Also, on a floating brake system the inboard pad tends to wear a little faster due to the nature of the design.

If they don't fit they don't fit. I've never noticed a Lt vs Rt, probably not the issue but worth a look. If reversing, and you are doing PM replacements that work I'd run w/your method.
