Hello!
I'm struggling with this BIG TIME and need some help.
I cannot see how to get my pitman arm puller onto the arm with the crossmember in the way on my 2000 4x4. I tried removing the front two steering box bolts and loosening the rear one, but I could not move it enough to get a straight shot on the bolt on the pitman arm or a straight shot for my puller.
What am I doing wrong? I fooled with it for quite some time tonight. The only way I could see to do it is completly remove the steering box, but I can't believe you have to do that?
I'm totally at a loss on this one. I have the ball stud part of the arm off and my 2000 with about 100K needs a new arm, it has play when I checked the steering the other week (I am also in the proccess of replacing both inner tie rod ends and both lower ball joints.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
