2001 Expy towing mods

After an exhaustive search we finally settled on a 2001 XLT comes with towing package and 3.55 gear

It should tow 6800 with no trouble.

Acording to THIS LINK, it will pull 500 more pounds if it had 16" rims and another 500 if it had 3.73 gears

So, if change either of those things, is thee an easy way to correct the speedo?

How much might it cost for a gear upgrade?

Easiest way to correct speedo and gain towing performance is
with a programmer such as Edge Evo or SCT.

They actually have a "towing" program you can set when you want
and switch to "performance" or "economy" when your not.

The re-gearing would be the most expensive by far and I personally would
not bother unless you are in the mountains a lot.
