I have a 2002 EB with the premium audio. About 4 years ago I took out the stock head unit and replaced it with a double din Jensen with nav, worked fine until earlier this year, it started acting flakey, changing channels and volume. Took it to a car stereo installer who told me it was a problem with the head unit, flash rom that Jensen was no longer updating. I had them install a newer unit, again a Jensen that worked fine until today. The touch screen is not responding nor is it responding to the remote. Planning on taking it back to the installer tomorrow.

Is this a coincidence or could something be wrong with the vehicle's electrical system?

any help is appreciated.

If you're not having issues with the other electronics in the vehicle then it is the build quality of the product or the installation of it.

My 98 has the premium audio. The speaker outputs of the head unit run into an amp. The amp then runs to the speakers. I upgraded to a factory 6-disc changer that did not need this amp. I had to disconnect the amp and install the amp by-pass wire connector. It was a pain because it's tucked tightly in front of the center console. I'm wondering if your 02 has this amp? You can technically connect it up and leave the amp, but you will probably have problems. Just thought I would throw that out there as something to check into.
