It might throw a code. I'd do a smoking of engine to see if you have a vacuum leak first. That and hook up scanner for any codes stored. You usually can take apart most idle valves and decarbon them, and use a new gasket. If you do buy a new one, spend the $, and buy a Ford or quality part. I've seen on the forum, where a cheap part actually worsened the problem.
