I noticed that my front driveshaft and axles are turning in 2wd. This is not normal?? I also noticed that one of my iwe hubs (driver side) is engaged as well. It wont leave a skid in gravel so the power must be going to the opposite side with the unlocked hub. I do get rumbling around corners when its warm. Oh this truck...

The front shaft will always be engaged and turn even in 2WD. If you want true 2WD with no front shaft involvement, you will need to look up the "Brown Wire Mod".

If your driver side hub is engaged and the other is not, you may have a vacuum leak. Get a vacuum pump w/gauge and remove the 2 vacuum tubes that connect to the hub actuator (driver side) and pump to -25spi. Let it sit and see if the leak is there... If no vacuum leak, then the problem is elsewhere..

You may want to remove the front driver halfshaft, and clean out the wheel bearing and hub actuator.. This could be full of junk and the hub is stuck and cannot disengauge..

So I found the problem! Previous owner had changed the struts to non-air ride. In doing this he managed to crush the vacuum line under one of the nuts on the top of the strut! It took me 2 hrs to figure it out. The hub would release with my vacuum pump, so there had to be something else.
