2003 Expedition specific -Steering, column, & gear shifting components

This part in picture broke. The rounded top broke off smooth from the smaller lower part. How do I get this out without breaking or stripping anything to replace the part? See pic below. Thanks for any help.

These are available but used is all I can find. I'd much rather just buy the one part instead of 5 or 6 pieces. But unable to find how to take it out without messing something else up. Any ideas at all?

I can't find instructions on how to replace it, but there's a snap ring at the other end. The end that's not broken. Remove the snap ring and I'd think it would then pull out. It appears the end with the snap ring is shown in your picture:

Here's a pic showing the snap ring slot ground into the shaft to the right of the splines:

Ok whitebronco. I'm going to try that. If not I guess I will just take bolt screw out of triangle shaped metal pieces so I can slide the flat wide silver piece of the splines and hopefully it will allow it to come out. I'm lucky all the cables are still intact and hopefully I don't have to mess with them. Just get this piece out and a new one in.
