I have an '03 Expo and since I bought it used (from a dealer) I have had problems with the A/C staying cold. I have had the dealer do a dye test after I bought it, and of course - found no leaks. I had my mechanic 2 years later put in dye when he recharged it = found no leaks.
It is going to start getting HOT/HUMID here and I was going to recharge the R134a myself and here's where my problem is now.
I bought a "decent" low side gauge and hooked it up according to instructions.
It shows the psi at the VERY HIGH end of the safe zone - about 50 psi. AND - when the gauge is hooked up and A/C on at full bore it seems to cycle the compressor very quicly. It goes up to 50 psi and then within a couple seconds goes down to ZERO psi - then back up again and keeps doing it. So it seems like the charge is ok - but still not blowing cold.
I am not very DIY and I only now what ive read in this forum and elsewhere about how the A/C should beworking properly so ANY feedback I can get would be greatly appreciated.
