I've been experiencing recurring issues with the A/C in my 2020 Expedition Limited. While it generally functions well, there are times when it either blows warm air or produces a weak flow of cold air from the vents without any significant blower force. Despite taking it to the dealer, they have been unable to replicate the problem and therefore cannot fix it. I initially suspected the front blower resistor or the blower itself, but this doesn't account for the instances when only warm air is blown.

Thanks, Dave

Our 2019 has the same issue…AC works fine but only for about 15mins, then blows ambient air and fan won’t blow hard even on high. Also, when the front AC does actually work, the rear AC has to be ON too, otherwise it blows ambient air.

Since I purchased my 2019 three years ago, I thought I've been having a problem with refrigerant leaking. Within a month of purchase, I had the system looked at and recharged. The following summer it blew warm, and I had my Ford dealership look at it, they replaced a hose they felt might have been the source of the leak, a year later I returned last month with the same problem. They checked again for leakage and found none, but they did recharge the system and charged (no pun intended) my nothing for the service work. They did add some dye with the refrigerant and when I take it in this month for an oil change, they'll check again for leakage. I have a UV light and glasses but thus so far, I can't see any leakage of dye.

However, this last time I was on a two-hour drive, when the warm air started. Interestingly, when I upped the temperature dial to 78 it was actually cooler than at 68. Now I'm wondering if the is some kind of temperature controlling method by which warm air is bled into the system to provide the difference in temperature between the driver and passenger as well as the back system setting. And maybe that system is out of wack.

I have a 2021 Expedition and have had to take it to the dealer multiple times for the AC malfunctioning. They changed the compressor twice and a valve the 3rd time. It malfunctioned again for the 4th time this weekend. The system does not seem to push air out of the blower. I have reported it to Ford corporate and have a case logged. Thank God I have an extended warranty! It’s definitely been frustrating!
