I have a 2003 expedition and one day randomly I start the truck, and nothing happens....it clicks, gets fuel, gets air and yet nothing..i tow it and they tell me no compression. Now im in a dilemma to fix it, buy new engine for it, scrap it, sell as is...the truck is in great shape overall, all leather interior power everything, treated me well.
I went to a police auction to get a 2004 expedition 5.4 for parts and it turns out I got a great deal and it runs fine, just a slight problem with the tranny but that was most likely the lack of trans fluid it had!
So now this 2004 expy has the interceptor package and the bigger 5.4 then my original 4.6....whats my best option here if I take the parts from the 03 to make the 04 nicer, since it had the police cages and no seats as it was a k9 unit, or try to find a used engine and fix the old expedition? I need help!
thanks!!

I'd get a second opinion on the compression issue - if there is one. Engines don't loose compression overnight. You can loose one cylinder and it still runs - not 100% but it runs.
Tell tale sign of no compression is the engine spins faster than when there is compression.

Usually when the oil drains out it makes a hell of a racket prior to locking up. If it did lock up then how did they get no compression? Something isn't right with this picture!

they said they tested for compression, but i guess that makes no sense if its locked up....what would be happening then to not allow the truck to turn over when trying to start?

A few things can keep an engine from turning over:
Bad starter
Low battery voltage / bad battery
Corroded Battery cables
Seized engine

Check the battery and/or charge it.
If there is a center bolt on the balancer try and turn the engine clockwise with a breaker bar. Otherwise use a strap wrench and try to turn the engine. You'll know in a hurry if it is seized.

When you try to start it, is the sound a click or a thud? If it is a click, one or many clicks?

I agree with stamp 100%.

If you are not confident troubleshooting it yourself I would take it to another mechanic.

Something is fishy with the mechs who have looked at your Ex so far, go get it and throw their phone number away.

Have you physically checked the oil level? Pull the dipstick and look at it, report back here.

so when this first happened there was zero oil in the truck, but it was maybe 2000 miles after the oil change and i had no spots on the ground at home or at work and the day before i drove an hour one way with no knocking and left no spill there either.....so it was oiless, but where did it go?

it burned it. n no, its not no compression if i read OP correctly, that it "clicked". if theres no compression, it would still turn over & try to start, and as another said, it will still run w/o compression in one cylinder - just not well. sounds like u either have a bad connection, battery, starter, seized engine (hopefully not), etc etc but since u said it clicks - that at least isn't the *cause* of it clicking, if u even have bad compression on any cylinders at all. would still turn over regardless.
