I have an '04 Expedition and recently replaced the battery on it. Because of that the computer basically reset to the original factory settings (0.0 mpg, 0 trip miles, etc.). Now my mpg are all over the place. When I'm in motion it increases a couple of tenths per gallon, but as soon as i stop for 30 s3conds at the red light, it starts falling again. I've read that after a while of driving the computer has saved enough info to determine your driving habits and it should even out, but after 3 fill-ups and nearly 800mi its still an issue. How long does it take for this issue to correct itself?

Average fuel economy. The display will indicate the vehicle’s average
fuel economy in liters/100 km (or miles/gallon) since last reset.
-To reset the average fuel
economy:
1. Press the MODE control
repeatedly until AVG F/ECON is
displayed (no other display is
resettable).
2. Press the E/M and MODE
controls simultaneously.
