My 2004 Expedition has a 4.6 ltr engine and it runs good and then suddenly turns off and when you try to turn it on it struggles until finally it turns on. It turns off when we take our foot off the fuel pedal it will idlle for a little bit and turns off. No emergency warning lights come on so we do not get a warning. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Could be a few things. Bad ground, bad throttle position sensor, bad fuel pump, bad fuel inertia switch. Either the spark is retarding or not getting proper voltage (bad ground), or the fuel isn't getting to the engine due to a bad pump, inertia switch, or TPS is going bad and not recognizing the pedal/throttle position. Not sure on the 4.6, but on the 5.4 the TPS cannot be replaced without replacing the throttle body. There is also a fuel sending unit(?) above the spare tire that goes bad due to corrosion. Drop the spare and check it out. It sits right on the frame above the spare. Good luck.
