2006 vs 2008 (Gen II or Gen III)?

Can anyone offer any insights on whether the 2008 (Third Generation) Expy is much better than the Second Generation (2003-2006)?

I currently have a Gen I (2002) Expy with the 4.6 and will be looking to replace her with something soon.

Do the 2008s get that much better mileage with the 6 speed or is it worth the savings to pick up a clean used 2006?

Any thoughts, comments would be appreciated!

The Gen 1's in my oppinion are better more rugged trucks. I had rather have a clean, modified, lifeted 2001. I would keep the one you have and make it like you want it.
