Sorry to hear that. What are they charging for that?

Didn’t fair much better than the OP on price it’s going to run north of $4,000 but it’s ford certified with warranty.

About 20 years ago I replaced the transmission on a 1980 300SD Mercedes Turbo Diesel that had 200K on it, with a remanufactured transmission. I paid $2,200 and it came with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. It wasn't cheap back then and they haven't gotten any better in price.

Yea my mechanic said despite what the car companies tell us he sees more and more premature out of warranty failures as the years go on, the trannys keep getting weaker and more disposable, wish i could put a four speed in. Too much going on and so much more to fail in these new units, the eight and ten speeds are going to be absolute nightmares down the road.

Yeah that's my concern. More gears and clutches in the same space that they put 4 in older models, so everything has to be thinner so less strength.
