Hello everybody I am new to the forum so thank you in advance for your help. I have a 2010 expedition that recently died while accelerating down the highway now it will not start. I tried starter fluid, but got nothing. Any ideas on what could be possibly wrong. Thank you very much.

Either no spark or no fuel. Check for fuel pressure. If you don't know how, get it towed to a station that can check it. It could be a fuel pump or pump relay. Turn the key to run. You should hear the fuel pump in the gas tank run for several seconds to prime the system.

Thanks …. If it’s no spark what would cause a complete loss of power and no start? Thanks

How many miles?

Could be possible that it was in need of a timing job, and it managed to jump timing while driving.
Not enough to make valves meet pistons, but enough for it to not fire....

Worst case scenario though.

If I were here, you would know it !
You can add the immobilzer
^^THIS^^

I had this happen a few times years ago om my '011 EL, which was intermittent and would start up after shutting everything off for a few minutes.....

However, it turned out to be 5 different failed run/start relays that control the flow of power to & from the PCM to the rest of the system, which caused the dreaded PATS locked padlock to light up, as if someone was trying to start the vehicle with a bogus key or break into or hotwire the ignition system.....

My wife had a similar experience with her Jeep. While driving it just stopped running and would not start. The problem was a weak/failed battery.
