i really want to get into that business...mounting and balancing...if i can mount tires and balance...i can low ball everyone else and create clientel...say $75 up to 20's...22's+...$150...what yall think of that...

yes...they normally charge $100+ round these parts...i REALLY got the hook up when they charged me $75 per to mount...balance...AND remove TPMS sensors from stock wheels and install them in my 24's...i couldnt say done fast enough!!!

ya i just did my 2 front tires on friday $460, and back in tx i paid $350 for the same damn tires!! but i had to pull the trigger cuz my tires were starting to get a receding hair line lol (needed an alignment)

this is per wheel...just wanted to reiterate that...they charge $100+ per wheel...found out today...to install TPMS would be extra $50 per...then to remove from old tire...PLUS install in new wheel...ANOTHER $75...PER WHEEL!!! someone please do the math on that!!!

i'd charge $75 total up to 20 inch rims...$150 anything above...TOTAL PRICE!!!

Yup 2 new tires mounted and high speed balancing, $460 is high but I guess its good for here in GA, and what I was saying was less than a month ago in Texas I paid $350 for 2 new tire mounted and high speed balancing ..... wtf!

I live on the wild side, I don't have TPMS in my rims...lol it seemed like it was too much BS to swap them over

i've seen new ones on ebay for $30 each...dont quote me on it...so get them and next time you need new tires they can install them when they break the wheels down...

what air suspension warning? TPMS sensors will fix the light...fixed mine

On the dash it gives me some message about the bags being low or empty.

Ross, if you have access to the base, you can mount your own tires for around $12 a rim ($6 for installing the tire, $6 to balance). I used to live there in Norfolk and the main navy base has a complete shop for you to use. That way you can be assured the job was done correctly as you are the one doing it.

As for why a lot of shops charge what they do, it is all based on the number of rims that they mess up and have to buy another rim for the customer. Sure, you can low ball them, but if you scratch one of the 24" rims, I'm sure the customer would want your to fix/replace the rim. What does a 24" rim go for? I'm sure 1 rim replacement can be offset by numerous mounting/balancings.

I wish you luck in getting that business up and running. I just know how shady some of the shops are down in that area. There was a few that I had to threaten when I started explaining to them exactly what they had done without even getting back to the truck. I wasn't the average Joe come walking in there with more dollars than sense.

thermo, thanks for the input...but the biggest constraint i have with this plan is...I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT...so i'm going to have to take the factory wheels from my truck and wife's car and have them show me/assist me in mounting/balancing...since my wife's rims are dingged up...i can practice on her rims to avoid not scratching up the chrome...but i need to learn first...how to...better ways...whatever tricks there are to be learned in mounting/balancing...when i was stationed in alaska some years back i worked in a transportation unit...repaired/maintained/painted 2000+ vehicles from ford's/chev's/dodge's...to R11 refuelers to refuel the aircraft...2yrs and since i wasnt interested...never took the perfect opprotunity to learn more...now i regret it...but if i ever...ever...EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER...get back into a transportation unit...believe me...i'll be learning a thing or two...

I just had to buy the tpms for my expi bc the light was killing me. Ross is right but they are about $30 each then you need to buy brackets and the mounting kit. I found a vendor on ebay that sold everything for 150 shipped.

No problem, Ive had them for about a week and no problems. Not a bad deal when the sensors are selling for $80 a pair lol

hey man ive owned alot of bagged trucks and if you have a brain you will not bag a 2010 navigator. the only way that thing will lay out is on some 17s with 35 series tires. if you go any bigger, you gotta notch the frame, but your floor in the rear and tub it. plus cut the front fenders and relocate everything. and if you go bigger then a 20 your gonna cut your firewall also. plus if you bag that thing it wont be worth shit. i loved bagged trucks im a minitrucker til i die. but i would never bag my expo. one of my best friends owns justplaintrick out here in az and there is a newer f150 that he cut up and laid out on 24s and i think this guy is 20k in the hole just at the shop. just clean it up and put wheels on it. and enjoy knowing you can drive it anywhere, anytime. and yes it is very bad to drive with the rear bags empty. that means every bump you hit your suspension is bottoming out. your gonna wear out every suspension component fast doing that.

I have the complete ride tech kit in my room. Just the bags, I needed the tank, compressor, etc. I know it's not going to lay out, but it'll tuck. Also I don't drive the truck everyday. Only saturdays sometimes not even at all.
