I had to remove my emblem to do repair paint blistering. Can you buy the black adhesive pad to stick it back on or do you need a whole new emblem? The emblem is not damaged at all. Any idea where to buy the pad or whole emblem if needed?

The OEM part number is AT4Z-9942528-B. Amazon, ebay, Taska, less than $30 shipped.

Ford does not sell replacement adhesive backing. You can take your chances with DIY Scotch or 3M emblem tape, but for $30 and to be done, replacing it would be the route I'd take.

Just get some 3m double sided adhesive should do the trick only a few bucks vs $30

*** that I'd throw a couple drops of krazy glue and put it back on the hatch, throw some masking tape to hold it in place over night and walla cheapest and easiest fix EVER!

The Expedition script isn't gonna be an easy one to cut the 3m tape around without F'in up the tape itself in the process... you'll end up with a rectangle piece of tape showing through the script that will do nothing but magnatize dirt that'll never come off

thought OP was referring to the blue oval, but his title does say expedition tailgate emblem. And what year has a Expedition script? i know mine don't and this is a image I found of a 2011.

The 2003-2006 Expeditions had individual letters, 2007-2014 had single badge, 2015-2017 had long strip below window. I believe Habibbie was referring to an 06’.

Marvelous post by such a marvelous member, and yes I thought 3rd gens had the same script as the 2nd gens... in that case I still say krazy glue it lol the 3m tape and its competitors are a tad too thick for my liking and the top of the tape will still attract dirt and be visible behind the badge looking down at it

My white '11 Limited had a lot of corrosion around the emblem on the tailgate. That was 3 out of 3 Expys with that problem. Hope my "new" 17 doesn't get the same!
