My 2012 EL has a malfunctioning drivers side running board. When its starts to go up it moves an inch or two, then goes back down. I replaced the motor but it is doing the same thing. The rubber bushings on the mounting bolts were pretty much gone and I'm wondering if that is the reason.

Anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to try and get a new bracket too?

I deal with this every winter here in Utah. the best fix I found was dry lubricant. I liberally spray the hinges and everything works fine. So far this year I haven't had any issues. Another thing you may need to do is when the door closes and the running board retracts assist it by lifting up until it fully retracts to clear out any debris that may be causing the binding.

Mine are clean, well lubed, and work fine but they stop 1" short of going up all the way. They are both doing it the same.
