Has anybody done a performance tune on a 2012?
I can't seem to find one that will work on my Expedition.
I need a little more power for towing. Thanks for any help!

Does a tune really help on gas savings? I'm avg 16 mpg on mine. I'm pretty sure staying off the accelerator wouldn't be an issue. But if it really won't help then I don't want to put any money out on one. My expy is 2013 xlt el.

It may, but it will come at the cost of power (and vice versa). You can't get blood from a turnip.

Theoretically speaking. When you put a programmer in a vehicle, you get more power/torque. With said power and torque, that means that the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get moving the same speed, which in turn gives you better gas mileage. Only problem, is that your vehicle becomes more fun when you put the programmer or other mods on it, which means the typical person will play a little more than normal. (At least until you get used to more power). So on a stock vehicle, driven exactly the same with/without tuner, the tuner would give better fuel economy.

Yes a typical tune results in more power which is used to get the vehicle moving normally can result in better mileage. Like thedodgedude said, the issue is many people get into the throttle more with new found power and better driveability and negate any mileage gains they may have gotten from the tune.

Top Gear did a test with a BMW M3 tailing a Prius around there test track. The Prius going flat out used more gas than the M3 which wasn't braking a sweat keeping up with the Prius. Point is your driving style has a huge affect on mileage.
