2013 Limited EL - Creaking Front Windows

The front windows in my dad's Expedition have begun creaking. Does anybody know why this happens, and if it is fixable? I'm thinking that perhaps it needs some lubrication on the moving parts inside the door. I'm hoping I can fix it rather easily, because the nearest Ford dealer in Missoula is pretty far away. I'd start by putting the window down and spraying silicone down on each side (front and back) of the tracks. Then put it up and down a couple of times. If it goes a way your done. If not you'll have to take off the door panel and use some white lithium grease on the mechanism. You can run it up and down and try to pinpoint what is creaking if it isn't the tracks.
