I am torn between a std. and an EL 2014. I understand ALL ELs come with 3.73 axle and the standard Exp has a choice of 3.31 or 3.73 axle.

I am not pulling a trailer. Is there a noticeable difference with city and highway MPG? I don't want 12-13 mpg city and 17-18 mpg highway.

Thank you for your input.

How you drive will make more of a difference than the extra weight of the EL. I have a little bit of a heavy foot and average about 10 mpg around town in my 5.4V 05 Navi

... and yet this is exactly what the EL is rated at. You'll get roughly 2 mpg better with the non-EL.

I average 15.3-15.4 mpg in my EL and every time I take it to a Ford dealership they act like I'm hypermiling. :p

there are things that can be done to improve the mpg...however u are looking at a big suv...find one with ecoboost for better mpgs but I don't think that was an option for them
