I’ve recently noticed my wife’s 2015 Limited losing the backup camera intermittently. When it happens, the screen goes black and there is no video. Otherwise, the picture is perfect. I’m guessing a loose connection, but is there a common place to start looking?

THE FIX....
I have a 2015 Ford Expedition XLT with ~190K miles. My backup camera has had issues since the time I purchased it brand new. Ford replaced the camera four times but still had the very same intermittant issue - actually only worked ten or twelve times throughout each year. Just within the last couple of months, the truck began to have other issues - the remote start would rarely work, the truck would lose power, the rear liftgate would occasionally not work - just beep, didn't want to start at times, etc. Well, an experienced Ford mechanic told me that, considering all of the intermittant issues, he thought it was all related to a bad Transmission Control Module. Transmission Lead frame, Transmission Control Module Connector (AL32-7G276-D), FT188 Screen Asy (BL3Z-7A098-A) and gasket (BL3Z-7A191-C) have all been replaced. All issues have been resolved with those replacements. Backup camera works every time now - NEVER HAS BEFORE. Remote start works again, etc. Transmission had to be opened so not cheap. All in, I was charged $1,905.82.

Disregard my post above. The work provided on the transmission to, in part, fix my backup camera, remote start and liftgate problem only worked for about three days. Those problems are already back. Ughh.

Wow, good to know. Strange how transmission linked issue causes all those other problems.
