I had the 5.0L in my 2011 F150 and loved that motor.

I am now very glad I just bought my 2013 EL. The body didn't change, I have already added all of the navigator chrome to mine, and I just can't make myself like the EcoBoost.

Just bought a 2014 picking it up today. Definitely pleased with my choice and also like the new one. Was checking daily to see what the new one was going to like to be sure. I think evolutionary deigns don't hurt resale of the older models vs radical redesigns.

Would like to see what a non platinum base XLT model looks like!!

Don't like the power plant. Would prefer the 5.0 if they are getting rid of the 5.4. However, love the interior and updated electronics.

I really like the design refresh, not so much on the ecoboost being the only engine. Call me old fashioned, but I like V8 noises coming from my truck. I would have to drive one I guess. I recently checked out the new Yukon Denali XL at the auto show and the interiors of those are way nicer than mine. Pictures don't do justice of how many nooks and crannies and power ports that are in there. If I was in the market, it would be a tough choice. Luckily I'm not because I love my truck and the lower payment lol.

i LOVE turbos. Great way to make power. I sure wish Ford would do a Raptor-type edition, however.

I bet they will end up releasing a 6.2L and a 5.0L at a later time.

I don't think they will do both. To many choices for not enough volume. I think if they did give an option later, it would be the 6.2. More grunt for the heavier vehicle.

Like the new design a lot. When I first saw the exterior and interior I thought wow dosent look like I would mod it.

Then my heart sank seeing there only using the v6 Eco. WTF Ford?

Give us Options!!! How is a guy going to squze 50 to 100% more HP/TQ out of a six that's already humping? No replacement for displacement.

Turbos/SC ARE the replacement for displacement. Imagine diesel-like torque in a gas engine? :D

Imagine a very tall and FLAT max torque curve? Plus, while out of boost; just driving along getting great economy. Imagine the FIELD DAY turners will have with a factory-boosted engine? I'm thinking a simple tuner = 40-50hp at the wheels. Figure I/H/E + Fuel and Tune? 100+whp. I love that. Without cracking open the engine. Oh - and those at highter altitudes won't suffer like they do with Naturally-aspirated engine, because boosted engines (sort of) make their own atmosphere. :)

Think of it like this: My previous DD, Subaru Legacy GT, made more torque from it's 2.5L than my 5.4L Expy makes. Sure it cost about $2000 in bolt-on upgrades, but wow.

The Ecoboost is a very responsive engine. Getting power doesn't seem to be an issue. But from what I've seen the guys that tow with it are less then impressed. Depending on trailer weight the turbo is spooled up quite often. Which leads to less then stellar mpg. Even compared to a V8. And some have reported similar mileage to the 5.0. Which kinda makes it pointless to pay for the Ecoboost.

A buddy if mine bought his wife a new F-150 a few months ago. I managed to talk him out of getting the Ecoboost and into the 5.0. A month later he thanked me after finding out about the issues with the Ecoboost. I'll stick with V8's in my truck.

I'm not keen on the MyFord Touch system because of the reliability issues its had in the past. I don't like the basic radio in my 2012, but its still more reliable than the MyTouch system IMHO.

Most people that are going to buy an Expedition will never need the full amount of power. The ttv6 means better fuel economy for the masses and the mpg requirements and it still has enough power to pull pretty much anything the average family is going to throw at it. I would love to have it. To be able to get close to 20mpg city stock, I will take it all day long and 90% of the people that buy them will do the same.
