I saw a lot of thread about adding parking sensors, but no 3rd gen replacement...
My rear-left park assist sensor died and it threw a code. I purchased a set of 4 on eBay. They came in black, so I put a very light coating of magnetic metallic touch-up on one and replaced the defective one with it. The code is gone, but the new one is very sensitive. Way too sensitive. From what I see, they may be matched in 2's. Two for the left rear and two for the right rear, but I'm not sure. I haven't tried replacing the one next to the failed one, which is on the shotgun approach list. Also on the list is wondering if FORSCAN (need to get latest version and spreadsheet) has a setting to change the sensitivity level of the sensors. You might think the paint is the issue, but there is no alert when in a parking lot with nothing in it, so I think it's working, albeit too well.
Does anyone have experience with this repair? Is there something that I can do? Thanks.
