I just purchased a 2017 Ford Expedition XLT. Question regarding the tow/haul button on lower left side of gear shifter...the owner's manual indicate it takes two presses to deactivate "tow/haul", however, this one deactivates with just one press of that button. What do others experience with how to turn off or deactivate "tow/haul"?
Thanks!

On my 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4, the button turns off or on with one push.

I purchased my 2015 Expedition new. The printed owner’s manual had numerous errors and incorrect illustrations regarding the vehicle.

I’ve owned vehicles for more than 50 years - the Ford manual was the worst in terms of mistakes and incorrect information that I have ever seen.

On my 07 XLT, its one push.
Just FYI, that mode cuts off gears higher than 4th. I only use it on hills. When flat i turn it off.

Tow/Haul does NO cut gears higher than 4th on my 2017 w/HD tow. These can be cut out with the upper button if desired -- which I rarely do, the transmission can handle this by itself.
The tow/haul feature improves
transmission operation when towing a
trailer or a heavy load. All transmission
gear ranges are available when using
tow/haul
.

Your drivetrain and PCM is most definitely different than mine. Mine is equipped w/ the 6R75 transmission, 6 speed. I watch the RPMs when the tow mode is on or off and throwing in my observations.

I have a 2017 Max Limited. The button changes the shift points, and it will settle into 6th gear on a long and stable straight stretch.
