Just picked up a 2017 King Ranch with 14k miles this past Tuesday. With the miles as low as they are there was really nothing that I could find wrong with the car at the dealership.

Yesterday I was installing weathertech side window air deflectors and noticed my passenger side rear window was very slow to go up. Sometimes it wouldn't make it to fully closed (even with the window guard removed).

After moving the window up and down about 10 times to see if it would loosen up, the window would stop working all together.

I'm guessing its a thermal brake in the window regulator motor that keeps it from getting too hot because after 30 seconds it worked again.

Going to take it to the dealer tomorrow since its still under warranty. Just wondering if anyone had a similar issue.

engine on or off?
weather techs are tight and you must help the window to the fully closed position and let it sit for 24 hrs iirc in the instructions

Mine are always slow when it’s cold out

I bought a new 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4.

I have always thought the four power windows are very slow, especially going up. I thought it was just the design of the vehicle.

The grease in the things gums up. You can take the stupid regulator apart and clean it up but by then it's just easier to replace the damn thing.

It seems in the race to make window regulators cheaper and lighter, every manufacturer has problems. They've made parts changers out of us. Cables and flexible plastic junk has replaced metal gears.

The windows is slow and stops midway up even with the engine running and the Weather tech window guard removed.

All 3 other windows are perfect.

Going to the dealer Thursday to have them check it out since it still under warranty.

Cookie, let us know how you make out.

My 2011 Expy had slow windows from the get go. When the passenger front window stopped altogether it cost $600+ to fix it. Shoulda brought it in while under warranty. I just bought a leftover 2017 and will get it fixed under warranty this time!

My 2008 has slow windows going up. My 2017 has the same issue - windows are slow going up. It's really annoying but thankfully I don't drive with my windows down all that much.

Today was my first day since buying the thing that I could have the windows down.
Wow, they are ridiculously slow.
Sure wish we could have the windows automatically close when the vehicle is shut off so I don’t have to sit there all afternoon waiting for them to go up.

It doesn't hurt to clean out the tracks and spray some silicone spray in the tracks.

Looks like your right. The dealer said the tracks had 0 lubrication on it. The window does go all the way up now and doesn't stick around the 3/4 mark anymore.

I can say, if I race the 2 rear windows, the passenger side is fully closed and the drivers still had 5 inches to go, so it is noticeably slower.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
