I'm looking to buy another set of wheels and tires for my Expedition. It came with stock 22" wheels with the low profile tires, and while I like the way it looks, I want to get another set of wheels, maybe 18" so I can have some more sidewall for airing down and driving on the beach.

Is there anything I should be worried about? And what years and models are compatible? I've read some stuff about F-150 wheels and needing to grind something? I was not sure what years that was all about though. Ideally, what year f-150s, Expys, etc would just swap without anything extra?

Thnx!

That's grinding the rear axle ends so they don't hit the center caps.

Is the center cap removeable? That sounds a bit easier.

What model year expedition wheels are a direct fit? anything from the 07-17 gen?

Cutting the ends of the axle is super easy. A sawzall with a good blade took about 5 mins each

I had 17x8.5" aftermarket rims with OEM-sized 265/70 tires on my '05 Exp for the winter. I forget what the offset was but it was close or exactly OEM.

My '16 Nav has OEM 22" and the 17" bolt right up with no clearance issues, tire dia. is the same, and the aftermarket Redi-sensor TPMSs also train fine. Pretty sure the '16 and '17 MY are the same. Only thing I had to change were the lug nuts.

2017's came with 18, 20, or 22 wheels. You can probably find someone upgrading to aftermarkets who will sell old 18s or 20s cheap
