So, I've put on just over 7k miles on my '18 Expedition Platinum. The only major complaint I have is with the roof rack. Well, the cross bars to be exact. I have broken two of them on my cross country trip. Both have been the rear bar and only on the passenger side. It actually doesn't break, but loosens at the width adjustment point. It bows and squeaks when driving down the road. I made sure that my load in my Thule car top box is under the max weight and the weight distribution is about as equal as it can be. I have tightened the adjustment screw but since the part is plastic, it wont tighten down enough to get it to stop squeaking. The squeaking is so loud, you can hear it over the stereo at a decent volume. The bowing also looks really bad and to the point that it appears that it might break more...
My Ford dealership has been more that helpful. They overnighted a set that they took off of one of the Expedition they had on their lot and overnighted them to me in Rapid City, SD. The dealership in Rapid City, SD had zero interest in doing the same for me. I stayed in a hotel for the night less than one mile from their dealership and they stated that they "under no circumstance" would they take a pair off of one their Expeditions on the lot. Regional Ford stated that they would send that dealership a replacement set within days, pay their service department for the labor and pay for them to take that vehicle off the sales lot until the replacement set arrived. Still this dealership wasn't willing to play ball. So hats off to Gillespie Ford in Gurnee, IL for stepping up and helping me over 900 miles from home!
