I thought both the Navigator and Denali were in the 5.5 to 5.8 second range 0-60? Maybe its the high altitude?

The Navigator got a strong start and pulled away from the gmc but as they revved out the 6.2L Yukon caught up and passed the Lincoln taking the win.
Given that the Lincoln has a 3.73 rear axle ratio while the GMC has a 3.23 rear axle ratio and given the same transmission and engine outputs within spitting range (~15% peak), isn't this exactly what one would expect...

The navigator must run different. Here was their previous video with the Expy Plat. vs. the same 6.2L GMC. Not even close. Different rear ends, 3.73 in Epxy vs. 3.23 in GMC in this test as well but Expy leaves the 6.2L in the dust.

Axle ratios were consistent in both tests. Yukon was slower than expy, Yukon was faster than Navi. 3.73 in the fords is a get up and go gear and the 3.23 in the GM offering is more of a cruising gear. These tests have to be taken with a grain of salt at this elevation, the yukon being an NA V8 likely isn’t at peak performance with the lower air density. Even the Lincoln appears to be slightly affected by the elevation with the lower 0-60 score.

Only for those of you who don't live at this altitude. ;)

Question, he mentions a few times that “titanium” is the top trim. Isn’t this incorrect? He also stated base pricing is 53,000 before incentives, also not correct since ford dropped it to 51,000. Not a bad review overall though. He sure likes the Chrysler Pacifica he talks about it a lot lol.

He is incorrect, i think hes thinkin of the high trims on the car line. For the price, i know the starting price i believe after dest is 53k. Its a good review though and he seemed to like ot for what it is. I dont agree with the cargo capacity adpect except for the high liftover height. The design of the expy kinda hurts cargo carrying capacity esp towardd the top of the cabin, the hauling ability from my personal exp is second to none, except a max or suburban. Also, neither the pacifica or atlus has near people capacity.

As far as the pacifica, ive never driven one but apparently its one of the better minivans.

From the Car and Driver road test. Lincoln Navigator 0-60 5.4 seconds. Quarter mile 14.0 seconds at 100mph

the video that showed the Navi, yukon, and Durango matchup says 8.24 to 60.... so after seeing this car and driver number I’m leaning towards tossing that entire matchup video out. I was annoyed enough with them running the Durango... it’s a foot shorter than he regular wheelbase Navi and close to 1000 pounds lighter. And come to find out their timing equipment is nearly 3 seconds off.... or am I missing something here?

Different elevation, all the trucks scored well below their factory scores. The Denali and Durango being naturally aspirated lost even more power. Obviously turbocharged engines still feel the elevation, I just watched a video on the 2015 expy and it scored lower as well. Either this or.......TFLs equipment is incorrect like you said because seems everything they test is slower.

Yukon with 5.3 is 355 hp/ 383 torque
Yukon with 6.2 is 420 hp/460 torque

You also have to take into account rear axle ratios, trans programming and shift points, and power band as peak numbers don’t always tell us the whole story. I’m curious as well about the differing results. Wondering if the expy is faster than Navi.

the one they tested was the 6.2, i guess the denali doesnt add any extra power. so what could have possibly been the difference. when we built the denali when shopping for the new ride, i didnt even see an optional rear end. it only came with the 3.23, that the yukon in the test video i posted also had. so what could possibly be the difference in those results?

That is my question as well, this is why I’d like to see an Expedition platinum vs Navigator race. Possibly drive by wire and trans programming for a more “gentle” feel as dlcorbet said. I believe you are correct on the rear end ratio 3.23 is it. They were press trucks......maybe GM snuck in a 3.73 rear end beforehand lol....

Many drag races are lost due to a loose nut on the accelerator pedal! Or in the case of the EcoBoost, having the wrong fuel in the tank

Well he said it, the Expedition is faster than the Navigator in their testing at least. These were press trucks so I’m sure ford filled it with the correct fuel. If not it cost them here lol.

Below is the link for edmunds review of the expy. They didnt put the trim, but i assume its either a plat or ltd 302 since they mentioned the 22in wheels. Must say, its a pretty lukewarm reception, esp when compared to their video test late last yr.
