Anyone know if the 2019 come with nitrogen filled tires? If they did not is it worth it to get them refilled with it?

My '19 Limited came with nitrogen, but it was a dealer upsell/add-on that I didn't have a choice on. I'm sure it has some merit, but I don't think it's much of a big deal. You can get it done at certain tire shops for really cheap tho if you feel (or someone provides a good argument!) like you need it.

Just an FYI but regular good ol free air is already 78% nitrogen. I definitely wouldn’t pay a dealer extra for it.

I always thought the whole N over O2 thing was a giant gimmick. For real, is there any data that supports it?

You could have told the dealer to remove the nitrogen and refill the tires with air.....

You should also have green valve stem covers for nitrogen filled tires

They want to sell this so you are married to them and need to go back every time you need to inflate a tire.

Exactly. That way they can do their complimentary inspection and find something to charge you money for.

Only if you believe what the dealer tells you...

“But if your tires were filled with nitrogen (denoted by green valve-stem caps) and you're low on pressure, don't be afraid to bring up your psi with regular old air.”

Yep, exact same reason these cars are all computer controlled, we need their dealers now!

Almost... I had a dealer bring this specific vehicle in from another state and the other dealer already tacked it on to their price. I did however negotiate it down to basically nothing because I didn't see the point.

The advantage of nitrogen is it expands/contracts less with temperature changes. However, over time the nitrogen will mix with air and no longer be pure. You have to fill with nitrogen only if you want to maintain nitrogen.

My conclusion was there is a small benefit with a major hassle factor, even if it is free. Better to check your tire pressure a little more often and use regular air. If the vehicle happens to come with nitrogen, no harm. Just use regular air when checking tire pressure.

All gases expand and contract with temp changes. The difference between Nitrogen and Air 78% Nitrogen , 21% O2 and 1% others. Is so close no one can tell by their cars handling. Not even F1 drivers. The problem is moisture. A tire full of 100% nitrogen should be dry and free of water vapor making all the tires expand and contract at the same rate. How many of you have a water separator on your air compressor? If you do you know how much water is in the air. I doubt the quarter air stations at the convenience stores have a dryer.

That's why I never go to the stealership.
Nitrogen does seem to be more stable temperature wise. My local shop on my first oil change filled the tires with nitrogen checked the alignment and checked the balance of the tires. They take better care of my car than a dealer. Truthfully I don't have any faith in the local dealer.

So if you live someplace humid it might make a difference. Otherwise no real difference.

We vintage bike guys held on to our original tube-filled tires because they hold Original Kawasaki/Suzuki/Honda and Yamaha factory air! Oooooooooooooo....big demand right now for original air. It's only original air once. Ebay sale pending.....

Figures. Why would I want to fill my tires with a gas that I have zero access to.

I also hate it when they fill my tires with nitrogen without telling me and replace my normal black valve stem caps with those stupid green ones!
