You need to explain the background of the issue and all of the details you can provide before anyone can attempt to offer perspective or recommendations.

Will Do!
I bought a new Ford king ranch expedition from Waldorf Ford in MD. It was k er the phone as they had the model I wanted. It was driven up to Maine. I traded in my VW touareg. I drove it to Boston the next day, July 21. It had about 800 miles in it. It began to vibrate in Boston ans the check engine light came in blinking. It did that three times and then the light stayed on. I got it to one dealership who said they couldn’t look at it for weeks, and that the Waldorf Ford should take care of it. Ofcourse Waldorf Ford was too far away. But I tried to get Ford to tow it to Maine so atleast it would be where I’m living. They would not. Basically after dropping almost 100k for the car ans extras to make sure I wouldn’t be stranded, I was stranded. No one did anything. I got to my moms apartment. The next day I got it to a dealership in Needham Ma. They , after heat begging, said they would just plug it in. I needed to make sure it was drivable to Maine as I needed to be back Friday the 23. It showed as a 2nd cylinder misfire. But everything was checked and it looked great. The car is brand new. Anyway, I was happy, started to drive it away into another malfunction in the middle of rush hour traffic. It was shaking so hard even in park. With hazards on, I slowly got it back to Muzi Ford in Needham Mass where it sits today. I have opened cases, I have called everyone, I had finally got a dealership in Maine to help me with a loaner. I’m paying for it as of now…and won’t have it after the 6. Ford has done nothing. Won’t fix it, won’t look at it, won’t tow it to where another dealership could and said they would….Waldorf Ford isn’t doing anything. This is a 100k car. And I paid for most of it already. Why is this happening?

I’m sorry for any typos and misspelled stuff I wrote it out again and again and I need Ford To Act and Help. They need to return the entire funds of this transaction immediately. They dropped the ball in every way with this transaction. And I need help getting them to honor this. I am
In between homes and got the car to help me transport my 4 mini Aussies and me. To strand someone and endanger their ability to keep their family safe is unacceptable. I can’t legally put dogs in a loaner or a rental. I will be fined for that. None of that is My fault. The car should have been looked at in a timely fashion. No matter the back up…when u pay for a new car like that the very least give a proper loaner. Even if it’s bought out of state. Ford has dropped the ball on this on so many levels I am devastated.

Theres not much you can do other than wait for them to fix it. The reason the dealers won't look at it is because nobody wants to work and all the mechanics quit to sit on unemployment or don't show up. Theres not a dealership anywhere that can find help. My wifes Navigator was just in and it took 10 weeks to resolve the issue.

If your state law has something in it, you might be able to do a buy back, but It usually takes more than a cylinder misfire. Thats likely as simple as a spark plug or coil pack. Either are a quick easy fix.

Otherwise these Expeditions are pretty solid. My 2018 has been excellent.......

I've been going around with Ford about my newly purchased 2021 KR. Only it is a radio problem. What I learned is this. The dealer can only do so much then it is Fords deal. A case number I've found means ****. They can only talk to the dealer, nobody higher up the food chain. I've been stonewalled by the response "we are aware of the problem and are working on a fix". That from corporate basically telling me I'm screwed.
Your thing should be fairly easy to diagnose. I'm from MA and don't know much good about Muzi. If you could get it to TASCA Ford in RI they could undoubtedly help you out. They have a long history and a ton of clout with Ford. Also not more than 50 miles fromk Needham

My dealer has been just fine. They have exhausted all they are authorized to do. Ford claims the problem is a software issue and are working on it. It has been a month.

Idk if it's because of the market but that truck had 800 miles on it and they made you pay full price? Yea sorry for your troubles, noone expects a new car to wet the bed like this. It's clear the dealer you bought from are wiping their hands due to your distance, but I learned that ford service is pretty shoddy and slimy, esp if you didn't buy from that dealer. I'm not a mechanic, it sounds like the issue is engine related, which can mean many things. If you can get it to a good dealer, it should be an easy fix. Once u get your truck back, do not leave until you and a mechanic drive it around and try your best to replicate the conditions where the symptoms showed itself. I would also call different dealers around you, including the one fastcar submitted to see if they can assist. Continue to hound ford corporate as much as you can to try n get a reimbursement for ur loaner, be pushy if need be. I saw an article that was theorizing why lincoln customer loyalty has dropped so low, but its not a theory. Ford service isn't as customer focused as many other brands and ford hasn't implemented any protocols to hold dealers accountable for lack of satisfaction that I've read.

Just to clarify, you purchased the vehicle from Waldorf Ford in Maryland, and then the dealer drove the vehicle 500+ miles in order to deliver it to you in Maine? Most dealers would have some type of satisfaction guarantee on a recent purchase in order to make the issue right. Have you tried to politely discuss the issue with the general manager of Waldorf Ford to explain the issue? Typically Ford will pay for loaner car fees if it's a warranty related issue where they have to keep the vehicle multiple days.

Many states have a "cooling off period" for new car sales where a buyer can return the vehicle within 3 days or similar. However, it does not appear that Maryland law offers this protection.

If you haven't already done so, you may want to consider the Ford Extended Service Plans. FloodFord.com seems to have among the best pricing on the Extended Service Plans.

100k for a KR? You can get a Black Label Navigator for that price. Something doesn’t add up.

I’m sorry you’re having problems. Don’t worry about being fined for having your dogs in the car. Ford will cover the costs. Plus they will cover your payments while the truck is in for repairs. Dealers are struggling with techs so things are taking extra long. All car brands are struggling, not just Ford. GM is having even worse issues with their valve trains. The auto industry is a mess right now.

I have found some flaws with mine, I’ve made the dealer aware of them and will get them taken care of eventually.

The 2018 Platinum F150 I traded in went in on 4/13 for that wonderful falling out of gear issue and by June they had lost their trans guy so the truck is still there. In fact they just sent it to another dealer across town and it’s going to be a few weeks for their trans guy to get to it.
Ford put me in a loaner and they covered everything for 2+ months they had my truck before I traded it in on my Expedition.

Dealers will bark about what you can and can’t do with loaners. In the end SM they won’t do anything, Ford reimburses them so in the end they don’t care. Just treat the loaner as your own and don’t leave it overly dirty when you return it and they won’t say a word.

It adds up pretty quick lol. Sticker of $80k is about normal for a KR, and maybe $85k for a Limited. Add $20k for add-ons like GPS tracker/theft, FordPlus super-warranty, various fees, taxes (prob $8K on this one), and yes (everyone hates this one) a "Market Incentive" anywhere from +$1k to +$20k depending on how rare or hard to find the vehicle is. With a Chinese chip shortage that has parked 100,000+ cars from about every manufacturer on the planet, finding one is problem #1 then finding one without dealer mark-up hanky panky is even tougher. So in reality an $80k sticker KR can add up to $100k pretty quick. It's why I bought a new 2020 KR with ~500 miles on it, because they were ready to deal. [Fingers crossed] here's hoping I made a good choice.

If I have an issue with the OP's post it would be how about every dealer she's dealt with seems so disagreeable and aloof. Sometimes an approach (adjective) can yield success or disaster depending on one's personal tone. Even corporate? Something's awry. On the other hand, a new car with these many disabling issues can be infuriating. If you really want to have some fun, go to your fav Mercedes online forum and listen to those poor people. Sickening, and very common to hear someone driving home a $150k car that blows up on the way home. Like a tranny, engine, drive train, a/c doesn't work, electrical demons, lock-outs, instrumentation, you name it.

My first guess with the OP's complaint was similar to what some have already mentioned; a coil over, ECU or some other rudimentary ignition issue. I mean I read a bit into the post, but I'm hearing "screw you lady, we don't have time for you until December". Come on.

I know about every auto shop in the country is lacking competent staff with the root firmly in Covid, but anyone else get the feeling there's something missing here?

Agreed that we're not hearing the whole story. Who buys an $80K + vehicle sight unseen from a dealer over 500 miles away and then blames everyone for poor service? If good service was that important, then buy from a local dealer who can arrange a dealer trade, etc.

I’m sorry but if you’re an pending that much on extras find another dealer! My Platinum had a 85k sticker, every option minus the TV’s. There was no markup on it either and this color combo was the only one with in 1500 miles of us, had a 1500 incentive if I purchased instead of leasing. Leasing only got me 1000 incentive before I even started negotiating. Yes you can negotiate on a leased vehicle.

FWIW, some or many FL, VA and MD dealers will add exorbitant “Market Adjustment” fees because they can. I lived there for many years and saw it. Maybe other locations where there is a lot of money also. Can’t undo this but in the future be aware there are these scoundrels out there and just walk away. No new car is worth a surcharge above MSRP. (I feel no new car is worth MSRP either). My 2cents.

I found that to be true for years along the east coast. The south has the most screwed up list of fees, some are actually legislated. Buyer be educated!!
