Pretty sure I'm the first to do this on a 22+, as I haven't seen any threads on it - but regardless.

I saw this intercooler: https://www.ebay.com/itm/187856664379

And thought, why not - it's the same body as the rest, just add on the top-part.

The rest of the forums talked about having to trim the radiator shutters (yep, still true)

as well as needing to remove the intercooler shutters (also still true)

But I'm happy to report that as long as you can break it down, you can make this big boy fit in there.

I did move the lower support bracket ahead one-slot in the frame (pictured)

Gonna finish buttoning everything tomorrow and putting on new hot/cold pipes.

Wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to throw out how I should secure this thing on top; thinking of butchering the top bracket and using the two bolt-hole (ear tabs?) on the intercooler (pictured)

That thing is pretty insane. Though I wonder, with stock turbos and pipes, how much of a difference would this make vs. the nearly direct replacement with something like the Mishimoto intercooler I put in. I love the Mishimoto and it was certainly far easier than this thing looks. Interested to hear your feedback after you drive on it a bit.

are you planning on tuning, and doing other parts?

I would tend to agree - that's why I did the CV Fab Hot and Cold pipes. Good god this thing claws it's way up to speed now

I am interested in tuning it - Not sure the best route to go there

For now I'm doing heat management stuff: B+M trans pan, trans cooler, trans Heat-Exchange delete, thermostat and 2" radiator

Love these EB's and have been waiting to get a gen 3 but it gets hot AF in summer here and they already produce a lot of heat.

I liked the idea of the trans pan, I just know it wouldn't fit with my skid plates. One thing that has noticeably helped mine was the 170 degree SPD thermostat.

Yeah just gotta get brave and take my trans fluid bath for the year - some genius on the Youtube videos suggested just drilling your own drain-hole in the plastic pan

My thinking with this is actually 3 part-er; probably going to take the truck off the road for a couple of days cause I'm working in my driveway

I don't want to have to tear into all of this again, so if I can get it done in one-shot I would prefer to

- pull grill/bumper
- drain radiator from petcock
- pull rad
- drill/pull trans pan
- pull trans HX
- install new mounting block, trans-cooler, lines, and thermostat interrupt
- install new trans pan, trans-dipstick (*excited about this one)
- finally - button it up by installing new radiator and thermostat

Then - once all this is done. Colder plugs and we should be ready to tune
(Still need suggestions here ^^ stuck on tuners - thinking MPT)

Any feedback is welcome!

Definitely look through loki's content. I have a Bullydog through 5Star, and it's done well for me. 5star has been easy to get new tunes from and it's worked out well. The only issue is when Ford decides to update the PCM strategy code, and the tuner no longer works, till 5star updates the tune packages to match the new PCM strategy. This has only happened twice to me in 6 years, so it is what it is. I know loki prefers some other tuners and tunes (i think Livernois) that may be a little more effective but again, it's up to what you're looking to do.

One piece of advice, if yours will have any factory warranty left, and/or you have to take it in for some of the major things, even phasers, tranny, etc, do your best to remove the tune at least a week before your appointment if you can. for sure before you take it in. If they would have updated the strategy code with the tun installed the process to get the tuner working is harder as it's locked to the VIN. I always remove mine before any service where Ford is likely to connect fdrs etc.

Will do buddy - thanks for the kinds words.

Caught the bug yesterday and did the B+M pan, filter, fluid, dipstick - long day, but very happy with the results.

Wishing the exhaust engineers would have worked more closely with the transmission engineers. Having to jack the tranny to get the rear bolts cost me +/- 2hrs for the "hidden" 15mm bolts that connect the trans to the frame; not to mention just a major pita.

Either way, all done - no leaks. Transmission adaption tables reset. She freaking scoots
