2023 Expedition Stealth snap popping sound 2nd row passenger floor

Hi. First time posting. I have a 2023 expedition stealth, 22K miles. About 6 months ago a snapping and popping sound, "sounds like metal", started on the floor board 2nd row rear passenger seat area. It has gotten so bad that it makes this sound when accelerating and braking all the time. Took it into Ford times two Ford service centers, and they told me they can not fix it. Called Ford and have a service ambassador helping me with this issue. As of today they have identified the issue. it is where the body mount is. But sadly no fix yet. I love this expedition, I am leasing, and was most likely going to buy it out, but now as of today that's on the fence. Has anyone have this issue and if so was it fixed. Thank you!

So what is the problem (or excuse) with the dealership that they cannot change a stupid body mount???

According to the shop its the bracket that the body mount bolts on to. I just got a message that they are starting a buy back. I should be happy, but I can't believe Ford can not fix this.

Wow, I cannot believe that Ford would do a buyback on this. Don't they have specialists that can take the car apart and correct the problem? It might take a week with a rental vehicle but it seems silly. I remember years ago seeing a new Gen 1 Expy on the rack, with the entire body pulled off.

Haave the same issue drives me crazy, same response from dealer...sad Ford built tough!

Not so sure they would do that since it would be difficult to guarantee a good weld. But certainly a frame replacement would be in play. As crazy expensive as that sounds, I've heard of frames being replaced in the past.

I'm sure there was a discussion within the Ford warranty/engineering group. If the vehicle fails to meet safety requirements, this defect constitutes a safety hazard. So I'm sure they're concerned (whether you believe that or not) that the welding issue of this body mount doesn't stop there, and could be more unsuspecting issues with the frame. I'm sure the decision wasn't made lightly, but the safest bet is to buy the car back and probably get you in another vehicle (or whatever works best for them).

The vehicle may also be repurchased to enable Ford to do an engineering evaluation and analysis, to determine if there is a manufacturing defect across other vehicles made on the same line?

Ford put me in a 2024 expedition max during this repair. Not only is it making the same noise it’s 10 times worse than my 2023. Obviously it’s a build defect. Regardless, I’m holding the accountable for this. Build quality is a joke right now for Ford. I’ll keep everyone posted if I hear anything new. Thanks for all the responses. At least I know now I’m not alone on this.

When was your Expedition built? When was the loaner built?

You can find the build month/year on the sticker on the door jamb that has the VIN.

Hmm… mine is a build 11/23 and doesn’t do that.

Hi. Update. So Ford will not fix the problem nor take the vehicle back. They recognize the issue,” body mount frame issue “and apologized, however basically told me to pound salt. They did extend my warranty 2 years and 75k. But I leased it so that does nothing for me. Very upset. Hopefully no one has the issue I have. Once the lease is up I’m moving on. Take care.

I'm sorry to hear of your plight. I agree it sounds like a saftey/liability issue but ignoring it and thowing it back on your lap is poor service. My stealth was manufactured August '23 and does not have this issue. What is the build date on your vehicle?
