'19 Platinum (short) with 220 miles, 22inch stock wheels with CCD. Tires at 39psi. The ride still feels a bit rougher than I'd like on Brooklyn/Manhattan roads. Do any of the drive mode settings "soften" the ride? Should I get 20s? Would that make much difference? If so, anyone local want to swap? I like the look of the 22s but I'd prefer a smoother ride.

I have a 2018 Limited with CCD and had my dealer swap the stock 22's to the standard 20" Limited wheels for a smoother ride. If your vehicle is that new, perhaps your dealer would be willing to switch your 22's with the 20's from a Limited. I'm pleased with the ride smoothness with my setup on Western PA's bumpy roads.

Eco mode will soften the suspension and smooth your ride...the tradeoff being the ride will be a little floatier and bouncier. I usually keep it in Eco just for that alone. If I'm driving on twisty roads I switch into Sport as my wife doesn't like how much Eco mode leans in the turns and prefers that Sport (and the tighter suspension setting) keeps it flatter going through the twisties.

I would say check your tire pressure but i dnt have ccd and 22s. I try to run mine on 34 to 36. But yea no truck rele is goin to ride "good" in cityscape environs. What are yoi comparing the ride 2? Mines on std springs rides pretty well on city roads, but when the road deteriorates, its not gonna hide it from me or my passengers.

I sure hope they gave you some coin for this exchange?

For comparison...I've been driving a 2009 Suburban with factory 22" wheels for 7 years now and just spent a weekend in my parents new 19 Platinum and it was a world of difference for the better. So by my standards, it's (in Larry David's voice) prettay prettay good.

I agree.

For those that are critical of the ride...y'all understand this is a truck chassis, right? Not a Rolls Royce or a hovercraft?

I was happy to swap to have a smoother ride and avoid the hassle of bent rims in my area from potholes. 22’s don’t have enough sidewall for the road conditions in my area.

I have a feeling that you could of sold yours for a LOT more than you think. Many are looking for the Platinum style wheel upgrade!

Buddy of mine has a new QX80. His 22s ride the same as my 24s, even according to him.

Where do u live? I haven't been on anything less then 24s and I've been in some pretty bad places on them and manage great to not bend the rims... even if u have 20s...u can't run over any potholes carelessly...u have to slow down...u have to consciously look for them... driving defensively... been riding 26s for 6 years

Had Ram Limited and looked at New Ram Pickup and purchased Platinum. Can't believe how smooth it is compared to Ram Pickup.

Did ur ride quality degrade some when u upfitted your wheels or does it feel roughly the same? Someone on here put 22s on the xlt amd said the ride felt mostly the same. Though its rele nice, im skeptical about puttin 22s on mine lol, i like cushy and the reg wheelz tip toes that line well enough for me

It’s definitely not as smooth. Have to be more cautious obviously. However, on decent roads it still rides very nice.

If you want even smoother, adjust to eco setting.
