Hello!

I found an Expedition Max the way I want (someone backed out on an order) but it HAS the 24" rims and I'm not certain I want them. I like that right now I could order one and get the 22" rims with the Platinum Ultimate. But I also like the idea of getting the 2026 in case the Blue Cruise is updated and the tablet holders become available.

Should I just keep waiting and get a 2026? I know this is relative per each person ...

What would you do? I can be patient ... but also afraid I'll be forced into the 24" rims in 2026 anyhow again with Ulitmate Platinum package so why wait?

Thanks!

I have one that is scheudled to get built next week and am still toying with the idea of reordering for a 26. I have asked my dealer to find out the changes but havent heard yet. I really want the tablet holders and if i can not get them as an accessory on my 25 then i will probably wait. Has your dealer told you when the 26 order banks will open up?

All I've been hearing is "likely opening later this year due to late arrival of 2025s" but I don't know if that'll likely be true?

Generally speaking the 24" will not ride as well as 22" or smaller. Just have to weigh the aesthetics vs function.

They don’t ride as well but they look way better imo. See my image for an example.

^^THIS^^

IMHO, unless your going for the "pimp wagon" look or just using it as an around-town cruiser, anything bigger than 20" have ZERO place on Expy's....

There are alot of folks here who have ditched their 22's & 20's for 18's (& even 17's), and have been way happier with the improvement in the ride quality, due to having/allowing for more sidewall height...

I know that as soon as my current set of tires wear out (probably by spring), I am moving to 18" rims & 285/65 Michelin Defenders :D

Exactly. I have the 22” and they ride rather firm. I also drive a 1 ton and a Raptor. So firm doesn’t bother me. I can only imagine how horrible those 24” ride.

I’m actually betting Ford drops the 24” option after 1-2 years max and only offers 22”. I’ve seen nothing but complaints from the 22”; and now some 24” crowd about ride quality.

I havent seen anyone complain about the ride of the 25s regardless of wheel size atleast on this forums and the navigator forum (there was one complaint, he had the nav with 22in wheels, and he said was disappointed in the ride with direct comparisons to his own escalade he had). The biggest issue with the 24s is the excessive vibration, which has always been something every ford truck I've ever driven has had. Other than that, alot of ppl, myself included, think the 25s ride really good.

Balance issues not withstanding, they ride just fine with 24’s. So do the new GM’s. They look boss too. Get it and enjoy. You aren’t giving anything up.

Personally, I think the tablet holders could be one of those things that ends up sounding cooler than actually is practical. I wonder how easy it'll be for kids to be able to reach the tablet in the holder, which means more time mom and dad are turning around and taking it out of the holder, fixing something, and putting it back in. If they do end up being helpful, Amazon has all kinds of other options that would work just as well (for me). All that to say, I wouldn't wait for tablet holders (especially with what you know will be a higher MSRP). I wouldn't worry about the wheel thing - there's no way Ford goes backwards from the 24s...people are drawn to big, fancy wheels and that's not changing.

All that to say, if the 25 is as you want it, I would absolutely get it now and save the MSRP bump that we know 26s will have and deal with the tablet holder issue later. If you don't like the 24" wheels, you could VERY quickly put them for sale/trade on Facebook marketplace or another venue and get rid of them and get something you wanted.
