2nd gen auto headlights

the problem is my headlights while in the auto position stay on even daylight. they use to come on only during night or driving through a long tunnel or in shade for a while. does anyone know what can cause this? is there a way to clean the sensor? could that be the problem getting dust on sensor? or is there a fuse or something that controls this function. TIA for the help.

IIRC, the sensor is in the red, blinking light in the top of the dash, near the center of the windshield. You can pop the cover off to see if it is covered in dust, or something.

thank you. will check tomorrow and report back. if not dusty any other possibilities as what is causing it?

Could maybe be a faulting photo sensor, or the headlight switch itself. I'll have to check once I get out of class.

thanks elvato. my ******* had a mini padres helmet covering the sensor. thought sensor was in mirror like it was in my other suv. and brainfarted about the blinking light is where it is at. thank you again for the help

full time headlights

So, if I put black duct tape over the red blinking light on the dash, my auto headlights will think it is always dark and they will stay on while the truck is on????????
It would be like full time driving lights!!
