2nd row release strap malfunction

2012 limited El 4x4

The strap that lets the third row occupants release the second row seat is present, but it's like it's pulled way out, and doesn't release the latch when you yank on it. Has anyone ever had that mechanism apart? Not just really obvious how the plastic covers come off. Pretty sure the fix would be fairly easy if I could get it apart without breaking the plastic...

Edit: passenger side seat. Driver's side appears to be in working order.

Just be careful pulling the side covers off. They have plastic **** that break off. Then your only choice is sheet metal screws or a new piece from the junkyard.

Fixed.

The strap had slipped off of a lever down in the mechanism, that actuates the release.

And yes @Trainmaster, I broke some plastic. We'll see how long super glue holds up.

Have the same problem on my 08 expy. I just keep it down as my kids crawl thru it.
