Yesterday I picked up a really clean super low mileage 2nd Gen Expedition. It's an 05 4x4 with only 65,000 miles. I traded in my 02 F-150 crew cab 4x4.

On my F-150, I bought a cat back system on eBay that had a single 3" inlet Magnaflow muffler with dual 2-1/2" pipes that ran straight out the back of the truck. The pipes exited on either side of my tow hitch and gave the truck a dual exhaust look.

I'd love to find a kit like this for my Expedition. Honestly, I didn't really notice any performance or fuel mileage gains with this system. It simply sounded better than my stock exhaust.

Has anyone installed a system like this on their 2nd Gen? I searched eBay yesterday and didn't see any kits like the one for my F-150.

I just want to see if there's anything out there that I can buy and install myself before hitting a muffler shop and having one custom made.

You are going to have to have a muffler shop fab one up for you. Due to the IRS there isn't any room for a dual exhaust. You either have to remove the spare tire or run it under the rear axle.

Ok well it is what it is. I'll probably go with an aftermarket single exhaust then. I realize that it's not a hot rod, I just liked the sound out of my F-150.

I've looked under my truck and the independent rear suspension makes it look like a job and a half.

I have a local hot rod shop that did a custom mandrel bent 3" exhaust system on my 68 Chevelle convertible, I'm going to stop by and let him take a look first before I do anything else. If he can fab up a single in, dual out system for me I'll go that route. If not, I'll order a Magnaflow single system.

I dual exhaust on mine 04. All I did was make it go into a y pipe over the axle and once it's over I split it back out and have it exit dual. Once I get it back from the trans shop I will upload some pics for you

I would love to see pics too. I was just told I couldn't put duals on my truck and am very disappointed.

Sorry for the delay life kinda played heck with me. But I have tried uploading pics here and the files are to big. I made a video and posted it to YouTube with all the mods done and how to do the dual exhaust. As soon as my rural Kansas internet uploads I will post the link here.

Use a source like shutterfly or photobucket... those images fit size retirement and can resided even smaller if needed

Mr. Bernoulli's principle says that a dual exhaust from a single source isn't going to increase performance unless the area of the single source is increased.

Going from the factory single point to a dual might achieve some increase in performance. Increasing the area of the single point will help even more.
