3rd Row Seating?

Hey, im new to the forum. The reason i joined is because i got a question.

Im going to be doing a really really big audio system in my expedition pretty soon, and im going to need all the room i can. I know the backseat comes out, and its just a few bolts. Im wondering about the 3rd row though, will it just unbolt and come out also?

well i forgot to mention about my expedition. its a 2006 expedition XLT 4WD. i know that the back seats just unbolt but i was just wondering if the 3rd row seat just unbolts also.

no, not enough room. when i say BIG stereo, i mean im doing a BIG stereo system. i had 6 15s on about 5,000 watts. now im doing a wall (where the subs are right behind the front seats facing foward, sealed off from the rest of the car) with 4 18" subs and close to 20,000 watts.

the box will be 43 cubic feet and im going to need every last inch i can get.

so will they just come out?

i dont think they will i think they are made into the truck are they power

they are not power. you have to manually fold them up and down.

the 3rd row can be taken out, but the floor under them isn't going to be even and by the time you build a flat subfloor you're not going to have saved much room and you're going to put in hours of work instead of 10 seconds to fold the seat down. Is there a reason you couldn't just make the box deeper instead of taller?

well i have 39" of height behind the front seats when the back seats are taken out. i need that 39" of depth to extend 40" back, and with the 3rd row folded down i only have around 24" back where i can achieve that height.

all i need to know is if the 3rd row will just come out, and im guessing it will

So youve already taken out the second row seats? Hmm.. With the proper tools, anything will come out. Itll prolly be alot of work, but you should be able to do it.

Yes it does come out. I had to take mine out to get the driver's side rear panel off to hide my amplified bazooka 8" in there...
All you need is a metric socket set....
The seatbelts require a big torx driver to remove.
