Yeah, on the 2000's they decided it was a good idea to hold the seat up. '97- '99s there was not the seat strut, so several third party folks came up with one, one of which I have and is shown above.

I have not seen the OEM one, can you upload a pic? Maybe it can be added into the 97-99's some how.

I wish Ford had these on the 97-99's. It seems that you may be able to convert this to use on the earlier models though, except that the clamp wouldn't be recessed. I wonder if the seats themselves have the holes to accept the bracket????
