Looking for help from those who have done this and know more about using a tuner than I. I'm currently running the canned 87 octane tune from my SCT X4 tuner. The canned tune is way better than stock IMO. Have been thinking about switching to the 91 tune but that gas is 20 cents more per gallon where I live vs the 87.

For those that have made the switch, is it worth it? Notice any improvements in HP, MPG, etc.? Also do you run the higher octane all the time (daily driver) or only on special occasions (towing or long, highway trips)?

Also for those wondering why not the 93 tune, we don't have 93 octane available where I live and frequently drive. 91 is the highest I can go.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The 5.4 will gain a little horsepower but to me the cost of premium doesn’t always seem worth it for the smallish gain from the 87 tune you have. That said I have seen some 5* tune pulls on 93 octane tuned 5.4 F-150s and they pull hard. I guess only you can decide if it’s worth it or not. When you go from 87 to 93 octane tunes I believe the new tune advances ignition timing to take better advantage of the fuel but without higher compression the fuel won’t be totally utilized at the same time, so you do get *some* gain in power.

Are there any tuner/programmers that include a vacuum gauge and ammeter in their gauge displays?

Hello, first post here. I am coming from a 2017 that I run an e30 tune on, I used to run a 5 star 93 tune and holy cow is there a huge difference. From what I’ve seen, the 91 is a solid tune for both performance and drivability, I would try to run the highest octane you can in these ecoboosts
