97 brake lock

my 97 expy has the brake lock solenoid in the column I'm wanting to disable it since all I do is mud ride it I've seen pictures of the solenoid but havnt opened the column yet is it as simple as it looks or are their other issues I need to look out for

I assume you are talking about the brake shift interlock so its not necessary to hit the brakes everytime you shift from forward to reverse and vise versa..

correct it dont like to release to put it in drive from park so I have to do the partial turn key pull to neutral then start

found the clip that locks it and removed it thx
