98' 5.4 rebuild questions.

I have a 98' Expedition with 170k miles on it, i've been told its 330 CI.

Since im getting that many miles on it im considering rebuilding it, I have a good friend that owns a machine shop so I'm good that way.

The only "Mods" I have done are a Cat Back System

I'm wanting to get some more power out of the motor, especially for towing, does anyone have any suggestions?

Any internal mods, different heads, etc....

I was thinking headers and hi-flow cat converters on the exhaust.

What about the transmission, I have the EO4D.

If no one has any specifics does anyone know where to find it?

The kit isn't cheap, but it makes 390hp that's 160 over stock. It is still about half the price of a blower kit, pretty good bang for the buck.
